Snug but do not tighten the bolts for now. Mount brackets with bolts to the OE threaded holes. Keep in mind, that the brackets are universal and will work right both on the driver’s and passenger sides. The clip nut will go into the larger hole and the threaded nut has to be aligned with the smaller hole. Once the holes are located, remove the rubber plug from the larger hole. You need to install brackets by bolting them to the 1st, 2nd and 5th tabs. Inspect the rocker area of the truck and locate 5 tabs (pinch weld). Start the running board installation procedure from the driver’s side of your Silverado truck.
